Kiwi Grandparents

Former Kiwi Keeper, Corry Ann Langford with Maui

Willowbank bred Kiwis are the proud parents of a rare Kiwi chick!

Staff here are all really excited to hear that Whitu and Maui have produced a chick after 35 attempts! Whitu and Maui were bred, incubated and then raised here under the careful eyes of Willowbank staff until they were two and then sent off to become breeding birds!

The rare chick weighed in at 335g at hatch, much heavier than Whitu (259g) and Maui (267.4g) when they hatched!

Well done Whitu and Maui!
