Animal Feeding

Buy farmyard food, bird food, eel food and fish food to hand-feed the animals and birds.

Cost: $3 per bag, $4 per cup

Or watch and learn as our keepers feed:

Lemurs 1.20pm

Lemur Encounter

This is a great opportunity to get up close to these amazing animals as you enter their enclosure and help the keeper feed the lemurs their lunch. You will learn lots about the lemurs’ natural habitat and behaviour whilst interacting and taking photos with these special primates.

  • Daily at 1.30pm (check-in at 1.15pm)
  • Sensible closed-toe shoes must be worn
  • Encounter lasts approx. 20 minutes
  • Maximum of 6 people per encounter
  • Children 6 – 9 years must have 1 supervising adult per 2 children
  • Children 10 – 15 years must have 1 supervising adult per 4 children
  • Cost: $30 per adult and $15 per child (in addition to entry)
  • Accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible

Junior Keeper

For children aged 10-14 years who love animals!

School holidays between 10.30am—2.30pm

A behind the scenes experience into life as a Keeper.  Work alongside one of our keepers to help feed and care for our animals.  Be ready to have heaps of fun in a very hands-on way.

Cost: $80 per child, includes lunch and a Willowbank hat

Bookings essential.

Guided Tour

An informative guided tour around our native area including kea, kiwi etc.

  • 45 minutes
  • Cost: $11 per adult, $5 per child (in addition to entry)
  • Minimum 2 adults. Bookings recommended, please call 03 359 6226 to book.



Kiwi Breeding Tour (finished for the season)

A behind the scenes tour at our Kiwi Incubation Facility.

See baby kiwi up close and learn about Operation Nest Egg. Tours available during the breeding season, Tuesday – Friday at 1pm.

Minimum 2 people. Bookings essential.

Cost: $25 per adult and $10 per child (in addition to entry)
